These Are The Most Popular Yoga Styles in the World

The study allowed us to observe patterns in the popular yoga styles that answered a lot of our questions, such as: which types are the most popular? Here’s a look at three popular types as per the survey of the participants:

Vinyasa Flow

In the top spot, with 57% of the respondents using this as their primary yoga practice, the most popular is Vinyasa Flow. The popularity of this yoga style may have something to do with its rapid fluid movements between postures.

Vinyasa is actually a broad type of practice that incorporates yoga that is powerful along with Ashtanga yoga. When it is referred to as a general term like Vinyasa, it is a way to allow for a lot of flexibility and creativity. Vinyasa flow can be tailored to suit all levels of students and will really get your blood moving and your muscles warm and supple, which is in tune with what most people are used to seeing as the standard expectation of exercising.

It’s a great exercise. It’s not necessarily spiritual, and you can see the benefits within your body immediately.

Hatha Yoga

The second position at second place is Hatha yoga, which has 42% of those who surveyed say it’s their preferred preference. Hatha also covers a wide variety of styles of yoga but is generally seen as an alternative to Vinyasa yoga.

Hatha yoga is a single posture at a time and stays in that pose for a long time. It’s slower-paced and concentrated on stretching. This style of yoga is ideal for those who are new to yoga or prefer a slower, more relaxed practice that is more focused on trying deeply.

Restorative Yoga

The majority of people also seem to enjoy their Restorative yoga, with 29% of respondents saying they would prefer this type of yoga for their first yoga class. These yoga classes usually consist of gentle postures that are held for long times, often supported by various props. The poses involve forward folds, twisting, as well as another easy stretch that people find soothing. They are also great to practice before bed!

One of the most common reactions is Yin yoga, which is like Restorative yoga in the sense that you do some poses for long periods of duration. It could, however, be more difficult. Yin yoga helps balance out the ‘yang of more energetic yoga practice by making movements that are deeply rooted in your tissues and fascia.

It requires intense concentration and focus. It could play a significant role in the prevention of injuries as well as joint and muscle health. I would recommend anyone who hasn’t attempted Yin yoga to give it a go!

Bikram/Hot Yoga

Ten percent of the respondents do Bikram yoga, which is a strict sequence of yoga poses practiced in a heated area, generally 35-42 degrees (95-108 degrees F). It is more generic. Hot yoga is not as strict and can be done in any of the temperatures that are above average and comprises a variety of yoga poses and flows.

Iyengar Yoga

This kind of yoga is an aspect of Hatha yoga, which is based on a particular sequence of postures. The lines of poses can be combined and matched in a class; however, they should be performed with a lot of concentration on the accuracy of posture tim, ing, and breathing. Eight percent of Global Yoga Survey respondents practice Iyengar yoga.
