The Benefits of Half Lord Of The Fishes Pose

Half Lord of the Fishes Pose is a gentle yet highly beneficial pose to incorporate into your yoga practice.

Yoga twists allow us to release tension from our spine and realign it. Twists also aid digestion and eliminate negative emotions and thoughts that reside in the stomach.

How-To

Sit down with your legs straight out.

Cross your right leg over to the left so that the heel of the right foot is on the outside of the hip.

If it is comfortable, bend your left knee and bring your left heel up to your right hip. Rest the top of the left foot on the floor. Alternatively, you can leave the leg straight.

Hook your left elbow outside of the right knee by reaching up and extending your left arm.

Put your right hand as close as you can to the body behind the tailbone. This arm will help you keep your spine straight and tall.

Use the strength in your core, not the elbow, to twist the body.

Both sides should practice.

Why do we struggle with digestion?

Nearly 30% worldwide suffer from digestive disorders, with women suffering twice as much. The problem is not so much digestion as it is the stress that makes us hold on to things. Yoga, and in particular twisting poses, can help.

You can find a variety of reasons why you might not be digesting your food properly. A diet that is unbalanced and lacking in nutrients, specifically fiber, would be the first cause. Stress is another reason and may be the most likely.

Stress can cause us to tighten our stomach muscles, which slows down digestion and leads to constipation. You may also suffer from extreme anxiety, which can lead to diarrhea. Women have a toxic relationship with their stomachs, wanting them to be toned and thin while criticizing them for being bloated. This leads to an unbalanced and exhausted digestive system that requires care and attention.

Why a healthy belly is important

Ayurveda is an ancient holistic medical system that believes Ama is the undigested food and words, feelings, thoughts, and experiences. Ama, they say, is the cause of all diseases. It is a combination of the remaining remains of our lives, including food, thoughts, feelings, and experiences. Ama also blocks the arteries, the mind, and the heart. Poor digestion can cause a variety of medical problems, both mental and physical.

Women who hate their bellies ignore the power they have in this area. This is where we find our intuition, creativity, and energy. It’s also the area that can create life.

This area is vital for us, as well as for our children.

You can use the deep twisting benefits in your yoga practice and life by utilizing the following:

Physically

Twisting literally squeezes the digestive organs. The twists also reduce and then restore blood flow to the vital organs, which play a role in excreting wastes and boosting immunity.

Spiritually

This is the sacral Charka or energy center. It lies below the belly button, in the same spot where the twists are supposed to originate. It is also the place of creativity, emotion, and the ability to flow with the current. This region is affected when creativity and emotion are suppressed.

The Sacral Chakra is a powerful part of our body that allows us to heal and release old, stagnant energy. We can feel confident, strong, and proud.

It may be time for you to take a serious look at the reasons behind your poor digestion. Yoga poses twist and is a great way to promote healthy digestion. But this should be accompanied by a determination to let go of whatever is holding you back.
