Yoga studios are businesses, but they look to connect with much more than just your wallet. Anyone who has thought about starting a yoga studio knows the deep-rooted values that go along with that decision. Nobody goes into the business purely for money (but let’s not make the mistake that they should not charge for their wonderful services!). So, what does your yoga studio really want from you?
Community
Each yoga studio has a little Community. A community is not possible without the lovely members. Involvement can indeed create a sense of community. This can be much more than a group of yogis getting together every Tuesday at 6 pm. Join the yoga community and help to raise awareness of some worthy causes. See what you can accomplish with your studio.
Remember that every class has a group of like-minded yoga practitioners who share similar values. Combining forces with them can create some amazing changes in the world, not to mention new friends.
Participation
Your studio wants to connect with you and involve you. Yoga studios are usually a reflection of the founder’s values. Let it shine if these values are yours, and you feel good vibes at the studio. Respect your yoga studio by being on time, following the rules, and respecting your teachers and facilities.
Please don’t be afraid to let us know if you are not happy with something or if you have a suggestion for improvement. Studio staff want to make you feel comfortable and welcome any suggestions.
Respectfully
It may seem obvious, but being respectful to your fellow yogis at the studio is important. This includes allowing others space to relax and open up, respecting their bodies and privacy, and creating a supportive atmosphere that encourages lifelong learning. The yogis are a big part of any studio’s good vibes.
Be a great example for others to follow. You should be supportive, friendly, and open.
Spread the word
Running a yoga studio, like any business, is all about numbers. To sustain a yoga studio, a certain number of students is required to hire a number of teachers. Yoga is not a business that people do for the money. (Well, there are very few exceptions), but without it, a studio would be impossible. Every studio has to deal with this.
If you enjoy your yoga studio or a particular class, tell your friends about it! Your studio will appreciate you for spreading the word. Word of mouth is the most powerful tool.
Enjoy a Laugh
The locals in the Philippines would often avoid the classes for fear that they wouldn’t be able to be serious enough. Yoga doesn’t need to be so serious! The best courses will be those where everyone is there to have fun, enjoy themselves, and learn in a relaxed, open environment. Check your serious mode and enjoy a laugh with your fellow yoga practitioners. Smiling makes life better!
You are the VIP of your yoga studio. Studios are kept running by your involvement and passion for yoga. Community is created together. Next time, linger longer and smile more. Talk up your studio to other yogis. Offer your ideas. Your studio will love this!
