New York City is a city that never sleeps, filled with life on every corner you turn. There is happiness and sadness. There are new people everywhere, and with every person we cross, there is a lesson to be learned.
New York City has many parks and yoga studios. NYC offers a variety of parks and yoga studios that allow you to connect with nature and others.
Enjoy the simplicity and aliveness of being human and practicing asana in these places that I love.
Solstice in Times Square
Each summer solstice, thousands of yogis from around the world gather in Times Square for the purpose of welcoming the new season. The event will run from 7:00 am to 7:30 pm, and all classes are free. A suggested donation is requested.
Every year, charities are supported by the charity, and instructors from around the world come to share their knowledge and love with everyone who participates. You will find new classes every hour, new people around you, and make new friends.
Washington Square Park
It is always filled with beauty and stories of struggle. Artists of all ages gather here with the same passion and purpose. Washington Square Park is a place where I can’t help but fall in love.
The air is filled with magic and art that is hard to explain. You enter a world beyond that arch that you will never want to leave. Bring your mat and stay for a bit to work on a few asanas.
Central Park
Holden visits Central Park to find out where the ducks are! There are so many parks to choose from, and you can find one on any side of the city. It is beautiful in any season. Every direction is filled with love and art, from Strawberry Fields, Balto, and everything in between.
This place has a beauty that cannot be described. This place has to be experienced.
Golden Bridge Yoga
When I enter the space, I feel bliss. This Kundalini Yoga center was founded by the wonderful Gurmukh and her husband Gurushabd and is full of experience, knowledge, and power. You will leave this place with a sense of ease and lightness.
They offer Hatha, Prenatal, and Kundalini yoga classes every week.
Dharma Yoga Center
Sri Dharma Mittra, a devoted yogi and the owner of Dharma Yoga Center, has created an ultimate space. This space, located on West 23rd Street, is filled with dedicated practitioners of all levels.
Dharma Yoga Center provides weekly classes that have roots in Hatha, Raja Karma Kriya Bhakti Japa Laya, and Jnana. The Dharma Yoga Center is a community of teachers who are passionate and knowledgeable. They will make you feel welcome and comfortable from the moment you enter.
There are endless opportunities to live in this city. There are thousands of places and people to see, as well as hundreds of yoga studios.
I hope that you get on the subway; take it. Get off at any random stop, bring it in, and find a random studio. You can come if you are feeling happy, sad or anxious. Sit down on a bench, walk in the park, or through the streets. Take a yoga class. Smile at a stranger. You never know what can happen if you allow it.
